Tsunami Japon / Japan - We express our condolence on the tragedy of the tsunami that hit Japan. As we know, Japon hit by earthquake measuring 8.8 Richter, at the northeast coast, on Friday, March-11-2011, which triggered a tsunami as high as 4 meters. The terrible earthquake hit Japan at 12:25 p.m. local time [0325 GMT], with the epicenter near the Ogasawara Islands, that's about 500 miles [800 kilometers] south of the main Japanese island, the agency said. It struck at a depth of 300 miles (480 kilometers).
The meteorological agency of Japan reported a magnitude of 6.9, however, the Geological Survey of United States. said the quake was 6.6. The reason for the discrepancy wasn't immediately clear until now.
